output of command "hwinfo"

Description of problem:
HDMI/DisplayPort audio output does not work out-of-the-box in a default install of Fedora 35 Silverblue. I had to edit /etc/modprobe.d/snd-intel.conf to get it operational.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Fedora 35 Silverblue 35.20220112.0 (BaseCommit 488b*10fd)

How reproducible:
Install f35 sb on a Besstar Tech Ltd. GK41, or other PC with similiar HW.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. fresh install of Fedora 35 Silverblue on a Besstar Tech Ltd. GK41
and "rpm-ostree update" to latest version
2. attach a monitor with speakers via HDMP or DP cable
3. => HDMI/DP is _not_ selectable as audio output device in Gnome settings
4. create /etc/modprobe.d/snd-intel.conf with this contents:
   "options snd-intel-dspcfg dsp_driver=1"
5. Reboot
6. => HDMP/DP is now selectable as audio output and works fine

Actual results:
Need to tweak modprobe configuration to make HDMI/DP audio output operational.

Expected results:
Should work out-of-the-box.

Additional info:
See attached hwinfo.

HDMI/DP - sorry for the typo

I am also having this issue. I am running i5-8250U on Acer Swift SF514-52T with Fedora 36.

By enabling the "options snd-intel-dspcfg dsp_driver=1" (HDaudio legacy driver), my speakers and HDMI audio will work. But my laptop mic (DMIC) will not work, which is the expected behavior, see https://thesofproject.github.io/latest/getting_started/intel_debug/introduction.html.

My alsa-info with driver=1: http://alsa-project.org/db/?f=726b7d21836ff2fd8115b96bc2b29f509c1855b3

"options snd-intel-dspcfg dsp_driver=2" (SST driver - default setting on Fedora 36), everything works except for HDMI audio doesn't work.

My alsa-info with driver=2: http://alsa-project.org/db/?f=41d2be23c793ab9b65412e40b2870bd8b1ab3ec4

"options snd-intel-dspcfg dsp_driver=3" (SOF driver), everything is not working, no sound card detected.

My alsa-info with driver=3: http://alsa-project.org/db/?f=8542e92049210a9185600e2d049aee38beb09add

This behavior reported at the SOF project: https://github.com/thesofproject/sof/issues/2251#issuecomment-1126852592

Comment 3 Ben Cotton 2022-11-29 17:38:42 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora Linux 35 is nearing its end of life.
Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora Linux 35 on 2022-12-13.
It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer
maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a
'version' of '35'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, change the 'version'
to a later Fedora Linux version.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not
able to fix it before Fedora Linux 35 is end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version
of Fedora Linux, you are encouraged to change the 'version' to a later version
prior to this bug being closed.
