Doc Text:
Previously, when selecting a host to upload in the Administration Portal (Storage > Domain > select domain > Disks > Upload), trying to select a host different from the first one on the list resulted in jumping back to the first host on the list. In this release, the storage domain and data center are only initialized once, and the list of hosts doesn't need to be reloaded. As a result, a different host can be selected without being set back to the first one on the list.

Description Pawan kumar Vilayatkar 2022-01-17 16:45:17 UTC
Description of problem:

When we make the selection of the HOST in the upload screen to upload a disk it will immediately replace it with the first active host in the list.
So we can't select another host.

If I put the first host in the list in maintenance then the host in maintenance is gone from the list and it is then the new first host in the list that is used.

The first on the list is not necessarily the SPM!

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

RHEVM 4.4.9.5-0.1.el8ev

How reproducible:

> Open RHVM admin Portal > Select Stoarge section > Disk > Upload > Try to upload disk and then try to change the host.

(In reply to Pawan kumar Vilayatkar from comment #0)
> > Open RHVM admin Portal > Select Stoarge section > Disk > Upload > Try to upload disk and then try to change the host.

That's an important note here - that we talk about the upload dialog that we get to from the Storage Domain -> Disks (sub)tab and not from the Disks tab

Verified successfully.

Versions:
engine-4.5.0.2-0.7.el8ev
vdsm-4.50.0.12-1.el8ev

Saw this issue on a version without the fix (engine-4.4.10.6-0.1.el8ev) - could reproduce it.
Did the same steps on the fixed version mentioned above and it worked as expected.
