Description Jan Stodola 2022-01-31 09:40:57 UTC
This bug was initially created as a copy of Bug #1968574

After bug 1944558 has been fixed, Anaconda works correctly for Red Hat accounts in Simple Content Access mode, resulting in successful installation from the Red Hat CDN and correctly registered system.

Still, the screen that reports post-registration status has been created with classic entitlement workflow in mind and might be confusing for users with SCA-enabled accounts.

See the attached screenshot for an example how current RHEL 8.5 nightly looks like when registered using an SCA-enabled account.

The main issue is certainly the "No subscriptions are attached to the system". While this could be technically correct in SCA mode, it's needlessly confusing to the user.

Also there is no indication of SCA mode being used for the registration.

Suggested actions:
- drop the "No subscriptions are attached to the system" when running in SCA mode.
- change the top level line from "The system has been properly subscribed" to "System successfully registered in Simple Content Access mode"
- (optional) center the screen content horizontally if possible

Comment 2 Martin Kolman 2022-02-04 18:14:09 UTC
PR: https://github.com/rhinstaller/anaconda/pull/3828

NOTE: the PR can't be merged and new RHEL 9 Anaconda build released with it until subscription-manager >= 1.29.24 is available in the compose due to API requirements.

Comment 3 Jan Stodola 2022-02-15 12:12:23 UTC
Moving to POST based on comment 2.

Comment 5 Jan Stodola 2022-02-25 15:50:52 UTC
Tested according to the instructions from comment 1 and also with basic kickstart installations using SCA and non-SCA accounts.

Anaconda now displays that the system is "Subscribed in Simple Content Access mode." when using an SCA enabled account.

Tested with anaconda-34.25.0.27-1.el9.

Verified:Tested

Comment 9 Jan Stodola 2022-02-28 09:32:18 UTC
Checked that anaconda-34.25.0.27-1.el9 is in nightly compose RHEL-9.0.0-20220227.3

Moving to VERIFIED
