I have done a successful build in Rawhide with an experimental patch. I'm not sure if upstream will find the patch palatable or will want to take a different course. Upstream bug report: https://github.com/mcmtroffaes/sphinxcontrib-bibtex/issues/284. This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 36 development cycle. Changing version to 36. FEDORA-2022-b20e86c976 has been submitted as an update to Fedora 36. https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2022-b20e86c976 FEDORA-2022-b20e86c976 has been pushed to the Fedora 36 testing repository.
