Description Laurent Rineau 2022-02-21 16:44:32 UTC
Description of problem:

Using CMake, the following `CMakeLists.txt` should find ITK without any help:

    find_package(ITK REQUIRED)

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

% rpm -q InsightToolkit-devel
InsightToolkit-devel-4.13.3-7.fc35.x86_64

How reproducible: always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. dnf install cmake InsightToolkit-examples
2. mkdir /tmp/build
3. cmake -B /tmp/build -S /usr/share/InsightToolkit/examples/Installation

Actual results:

% cmake -B /tmp/build -S /usr/share/InsightToolkit/examples/Installation
-- The C compiler identification is GNU 11.2.1
-- The CXX compiler identification is GNU 11.2.1
-- Detecting C compiler ABI info
-- Detecting C compiler ABI info - done
-- Check for working C compiler: /usr/bin/cc - skipped

-- Detecting CXX compiler ABI info

CMake Error at CMakeLists.txt:12 (find_package):
By not providing "FindITK.cmake" in CMAKE_MODULE_PATH this project has
asked CMake to find a package configuration file provided by "ITK", but
  CMake did not find one.

Expected results:
No CMake error

I think there should be a symbolic link
    /usr/lib64/cmake/ITK -> InsightToolkit
in the InsightToolkit-devel package.

This message is a reminder that Fedora Linux 35 is nearing its end of life.
Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora Linux 35 on 2022-12-13.
It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer
maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a
'version' of '35'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, change the 'version'
to a later Fedora Linux version.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not
able to fix it before Fedora Linux 35 is end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version
of Fedora Linux, you are encouraged to change the 'version' to a later version
prior to this bug being closed.

Comment 2 Laurent Rineau 2022-11-30 08:26:28 UTC
I have verified that this bug applies to Fedora 36 and Fedora 37 as well.

Updating to Rawhide to avoid auto-closure. I don’t think anything about the situation has changed since the bug was reported.

This package needs some attention; unfortunately, I don’t think anybody has had the cycles to do more than keep it building from source.

Comment 5 Fedora Release Engineering 2023-08-16 07:05:16 UTC
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora Linux 39 development cycle.
Changing version to 39.
