Description Pavel Březina 2022-02-23 11:56:47 UTC
If acl is not installed, dirsrv fails to start:

Feb 23 11:36:54 235c0ea5539a ds_systemd_ask_password_acl[64]: grep: /etc/dirsrv/slapd-localhost/dse.ldif: No such file or directory
Feb 23 11:36:54 235c0ea5539a ds_systemd_ask_password_acl[66]: /usr/libexec/dirsrv/ds_systemd_ask_password_acl: line 32: setfacl: command not found
Feb 23 11:36:54 235c0ea5539a systemd[1]: dirsrv: Control process exited, code=exited, status=127/n/a

This can happen for example in fedora:36/rawhide container. Installing acl solves the issue.

Comment 4 Spike 2022-05-10 15:12:07 UTC
Problem still persists in Fedora 36.
Seems like the relevant fix (https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/389-ds-base/c/7a69d01ec01d33f878c01341c07a47e0af024bb7?branch=rawhide) was never backported to the F36 branch, i.e. this line https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/389-ds-base/blob/rawhide/f/389-ds-base.spec#_236 is missing in the F36 branch: https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/389-ds-base/blob/f36/f/389-ds-base.spec
