checked with gjs-1.71.1-4.fc36.x86_64 and gnome-maps-42~rc-1.fc36.x86_64, you will see the crash every time you search a place, then close the window, both on VM or bare metal machine

Comment 3 lnie 2022-03-14 10:20:09 UTC
There are plenty of"bject xxxx of type IBusText has been finalized while it was still owned by gjs, this is due to invalid memory management" in journal ,so reassign to gjs and propose as a blocker to get more attention.

Comment 4 Fedora Blocker Bugs Application 2022-03-14 10:20:25 UTC
Proposed as a Blocker for 36-final by Fedora user lnie using the blocker tracking app because:

This is a violation of the criteria:
All applications that can be launched using the standard graphical mechanism after a default installation of Fedora Workstation on the x86_64 architecture must start successfully and withstand a basic functionality test

Comment 7 Geoffrey Marr 2022-03-14 18:51:54 UTC
Discussed during the 2022-03-14 blocker review meeting: [0]

The decision to classify this bug as a "RejectedBlocker (Final)" was made as a crash on shutdown with no other ill effects does not violate the 'basic functionality' or 'no crash notifications on boot' criteria, so this is rejected.
