Description Filip Balák 2022-04-08 07:24:04 UTC
Description of problem:
PVC utilization mails don't contain enough information to identify which PVC is being utilized:

```
Hello!
This notification is for your OpenShift managed cluster running OpenShift Data Foundation.
The utilization of the PVC in your cluster has exceeded 85%. Please free up some space immediately or expand the PVC if possible. Failure to address this issue will lead to service interruptions for the cluster.
If you have any questions, please contact us. Review the support process for guidance on working with Red Hat support.
Thank you for choosing Red Hat OpenShift Data Foundation,
ODF SRE
```

Information to identify what PVC is being utilized should be included in the mail.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
ODF 4.10

As discussed in the chat https://chat.google.com/room/AAAASHA9vWs/9XdXeUjVLdg, please aslo make sure we change this statement "Failure to address this issue will lead to service interruptions for the cluster.

"

For a PVC, the failure to address would affect the PVC and workload for that particular PV and not the entire cluster

The utilization of the PVC in your cluster has exceeded 85%. Please free up some space immediately or expand the PVC if possible. Failure to address this issue will lead to service interruptions for the cluster.

Comment 4 Akshay Khanna 2022-04-19 16:03:25 UTC
@nberry Could you also specify the exact statement we should use instead of this one

"The utilization of the PVC in your cluster has exceeded 85%. Please free up some space immediately or expand the PVC if possible. Failure to address this issue will lead to service interruptions for the cluster."

Comment 5 Akshay Khanna 2022-04-20 06:33:18 UTC
@nberry The line "Failure to address this issue will lead to service interruptions for the cluster." doesn't state the effect on the cluster, instead, it states that - This may cause an issue in service interruption, and service interruption can be anything like the error in the pod, PVC, etc.

@omitrani can you confirm my statement?

If you still wish to change this statement, we can change it.

Comment 6 Ohad 2022-04-20 11:22:02 UTC
maybe we need to change "will" to "may", so it will be:
"Failure to address this issue may lead to service interruptions for the cluster"

Comment 7 Filip Balák 2022-05-27 16:47:26 UTC
PVC utilization alerts for 75% and 85% utilization threshold contain Namespace and PVC Name.

Example:

```
Hello!
This notification is for your OpenShift managed cluster running OpenShift Data Foundation.
Persistent Volume Usage Critical
The utilization of one or more of the PVs in your cluster has exceeded 85%. Please free up some space immediately or expand the PV if possible. Failure to address this issue may lead to service interruptions.
