I am aware of it. There is a work around for the moment, but I do plan to apply that patch as soon as it is queued. Unfortunately it is still not even in next. Proposed as a Blocker and Freeze Exception for 36-final by Fedora user asciiwolf using the blocker tracking app because: This kernel issue causes audio cutouts, crackling and other audio issues for many users. The fix for this issue has already been merged in the sound.git tree (but was not yet backported to a stable 5.17). Discussed in ticket: https://pagure.io/fedora-qa/blocker-review/issue/751 The decision to classify this bug as an RejectedBlocker and AcceptedFreezeException was made: "The issue has potential to affect large group of users, it doesn't violate the "The installed system must be able to play back sound with gstreamer-based applications." criterion". FEDORA-2022-013c7ab4d4 has been submitted as an update to Fedora 36. https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2022-013c7ab4d4 The kernel seems to be working ok. I do not have an affected card here at the moment, so I cannot test if the error has been mitigated. I had no audio cutouts since I installed the kernel, so it seems fine. Thanks! :) FEDORA-2022-013c7ab4d4 has been pushed to the Fedora 36 stable repository. If problem still persists, please make note of it in this bug report. |
