Note: This bug is displayed in read-only format because the product is no longer active in Red Hat Bugzilla.
RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Gerd Hoffmann 2022-04-13 08:31:01 UTC
Description of problem:
sync edk2 openssl tarball with rhel-8.7 (openssl-1.1.1) openssl rpm sources

Comment 1 Gerd Hoffmann 2022-07-22 09:12:30 UTC
https://gitlab.com/kraxel/rhel-edk-2/-/commits/bz2074834-openssl-update/
Gibt noch keinen 8.7 branch, soll ich 'nen merge req gegen 8.6 aufmachen?

Comment 2 Gerd Hoffmann 2022-07-22 09:13:32 UTC
> Gibt noch keinen 8.7 branch, soll ich 'nen merge req gegen 8.6 aufmachen?
epic language fail ..
there is no 8.7 branch yet, so should I open a merge req for 8.6?

Comment 4 Camilla Conte 2022-08-02 15:40:24 UTC
Fix included in edk2-20220126gitbb1bba3d-3.el8

Fixed by merge request 'openssl: jump to 8.7.0 branch' ( https://gitlab.com/redhat/rhel/src/edk2/-/merge_requests/16 )

Comment 7 Yanan Fu 2022-08-04 02:28:38 UTC
QE bot(pre verify): Set 'Verified:Tested,SanityOnly' as gating/tier1 test pass.

Comment 8 Xueqiang Wei 2022-08-08 13:02:21 UTC
Tested with edk2-ovmf-20220126gitbb1bba3d77-3.el8.noarch, edk2 regression test passed, no new bug was found.

Version:
kernel-4.18.0-414.el8.x86_64
qemu-kvm-6.2.0-18.module+el8.7.0+15999+d24f860e
edk2-ovmf-20220126gitbb1bba3d77-3.el8.noarch

Check the openssl version in rhel-8.7
# openssl version
OpenSSL 1.1.1k FIPS 25 Mar 2021

Check the edk2 openssl tarball (openssl-rhel-740e53ace8f6771c205bf84780e26bcd7a3275df.tar.xz)

The version is also "OpenSSL 1.1.1k 25 Mar 2021".

So set status to VERIFIED.
