Description Chris Blum 2022-04-27 11:35:51 UTC
Description of problem:
Red Hat needs to have ODF config data (via the StorageCluster CR) in the Red Hat Insights collection for two purposes:
1) So that PM can identify which features of ODF are used by customers (features like external ODF or encryption)
2) Customers can be notified via Insights suggestions that they have configured non-optimal options or are using features that need an ODF Advanced subscription

This also helps during support interactions, since the StorageCluster CR is always helpful to know how ODF is configured.

Actual results:
No ODF specific information is present in the Insights archives.

Expected results:
ODF StorageCluster CR is contained in the Insights archives.

Additional info:
The needed changes are already being worked on in https://github.com/openshift/insights-operator/pull/614
We will want to have this starting with OCP 4.11 and also backported to OCP 4.10

Verified on 4.11.0-0.ci-2022-04-29-080325.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Install Openshift Data Foundation via OLM.
2. Create a storage System.
3. Check if storage system resource was created (API explorer for ex.)
4. Download archive.

Check if config/storage/<namespace>/<name>.json exists
