Awesomely simple fix: remove the VBE post in /etc/pm/functions-intel. Or ship the newer pm-utils and my hal patch to automate this. Fedora Core 5 and Fedora Core 6 are, as we're sure you've noticed, no longer test releases. We're cleaning up the bug database and making sure important bug reports filed against these test releases don't get lost. It would be helpful if you could test this issue with a released version of Fedora or with the latest development / test release. Thanks for your help and for your patience. [This is a bulk message for all open FC5/FC6 test release bugs. I'm adding myself to the CC list for each bug, so I'll see any comments you make after this and do my best to make sure every issue gets proper attention.] I just want to say that I have also this issue with Fedora Core 6 with latest updates. My laptop is IBM Thinkpad R52 Please fix this in Fedora Core 6 and in Fedora 7. Thank you. ps. If you need someone for testing I'm willing to volunteer my time. I found a fix for my IBM R52 laptop: http://thinkwiki.org/wiki/Problem_with_display_remaining_black_after_resume#Solution_for_ThinkPads_with_ATI_graphic_chips_and_Intel_915.2F945GM you need to edit /boot/grub/menu.lst and add "acpi_sleep=s3_bios" at the end of kernel line. comment #1 doesn't work with IBM R52 with Intel graphics! Please make this work by default on Fedora 7. Thank you. quirk guide isn't too helpful because I tried using it to fix my other laptop: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=240964 and it didn't get me far! :( So? It's different hardware... Is this now fixed with Fedora 7 updates or Fedora 8? Yes Forgot this was still open. Closing. |
