I think the problem here comes from the fact that we ship eclipse partially pre-configured. We need to do this to extract the shared libraries from the jarred plugins so that symlinks can be added in the file system (outside of the eclipse filesystem structure). I'm going to have to think about this a little more before I come up with a solution. BTW, thanks for the bug report. As an update: I noticed that if you run Fedora Eclipe using the Java 1.5 binaries from Sun this problem goes away. It could be a bug related to GCJ. Ok, I guess I was wrong then. Thanks for the update. This problem is fixed in FC-6 with 3.2.1-24.fc6. When you start eclipse you will be prompted for a workspace location and given the option to save this location. |
