Description Marcel Haerry 2022-05-19 14:49:02 UTC
Would be nice to have it for EL9

Comment 1 Vít Ondruch 2022-05-19 15:42:42 UTC
Sorry, I am not interested in maintaining EPEL, but feel free to do whatever is necessary to get the package there.

Comment 2 Marcel Haerry 2022-05-20 11:35:11 UTC
Can you allow me as a maintainer on EL9 - I am more than happy to maintain it on EL 9 thank you!

Comment 3 Michael J Gruber 2023-10-06 08:20:34 UTC
Rebuilding the current rawhide/f39/f38/f37/f36 srpm in koji for epel9 (https://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org//work/tasks/1929/107121929/root.log) results in:

DEBUG util.py:446: Error:
DEBUG util.py:446: Problem: conflicting requests
DEBUG util.py:446: - package ruby-bundled-gems-3.1.2-141.module+el9.1.0+15737+76195479.s390x is filtered out by modular filtering
DEBUG util.py:448: (try to add '--skip-broken' to skip uninstallable packages)
DEBUG util.py:595: Child return code was: 1

Now, I don't know what tries to pull in ruby-bundled-gems, but as far (or little) as I understand, this is connected to modules which used to be present in earlier minor releases. RHEL 9.2 apparantly has ruby at 3.0.4-160.el9_0 only and does not provide the -bundled-gems subpackage. Probably related to the smtp gem.

Rebuilding the epel8/f35/f34/f33 srpm in koji works, though:

So, can we have a branch and a maintainer/comitter please? Marcel opted in already, and if that's not current any more I'll take it for the sake of notmuch-vim (mjg). I have not tried this on *EL yet, though, since I'm not a notmuch-vim user myself.

Comment 4 Michael J Gruber 2023-10-18 19:25:58 UTC
Apparently, Marcel is not around any more. Can we have an epel9 branch please? Feel free to add me as a committer for that branch.

Comment 5 Marcel Haerry 2023-10-18 20:35:23 UTC
Oh actually I never realized I got access to the repository. Sorry for that. I can try to build a release, but wouldn't mind if Michael could collaborate as well. sorry for that.

Comment 6 Marcel Haerry 2023-10-18 20:42:28 UTC

Ah as collaborator I cannot request it - Vit could you make the request?
