Description of problem:

Cannot remove static hostname via this command:

    sudo nmcli general hostname ''

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
NetworkManager-1.39.5-1.el9.x86_64

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. sudo nmcli general hostname example.org
2. sudo nmcli general hostname ''
3.

Actual results:

Error: failed to set hostname: The hostname was too long or contained invalid characters

Expected results:

/etc/hostname been removed.
