Description Andrew Pickering 2022-06-09 01:06:16 UTC
When the dashboard auto refresh is enabled, you would expect that on each refresh the graph would maintain the same shape, but shift a little to the left with the passage of time.

However, because the graph data is completely reloaded on each refresh and the query uses a relatively low sampling rate, the graph shape can actually change on each refresh. Depending on the query, there may be no change, a minor change too small to notice, or a large visible change.

Although this is not technically incorrect (we are doing correct data sampling and rendering of the graph on each refresh), depending on the graph it certain can look like a bug.

Release:
4.11.0-0.nightly-2022-06-15-161625

test process:
1.Open admin console, navigate to Observe->Dashboards
2.On the top right corner, select "Refresh Interval" as "15 seconds"
3.Watch graph changes for few minutes

on each refresh the graph would maintain the same shape, but shift a little to the left with the passage of time, test passed
