Description Charalampos Stratakis 2022-06-14 21:52:23 UTC
pyosmium fails to build with the latest setuptools version.

This report is automated and not very verbose, but we'll try to get back here with details.

For the build logs, see:
https://copr-be.cloud.fedoraproject.org/results/cstratak/setuptools-62.4.0-final/fedora-rawhide-x86_64/04533446-pyosmium/

For all our attempts to build pyosmium with the latest setuptools, see:
https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/cstratak/setuptools-62.4.0-final/package/pyosmium/

Testing and rebuild of packages is happening in copr. You can follow these instructions to test locally in mock if your package builds with latest setuptools version:
https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/cstratak/setuptools-62.4.0-final/

Let us know here if you have any questions.

Comment 1 Tom Hughes 2022-06-14 22:07:27 UTC
I don't see anything setuptools related in that log - it looks to be an issue with sphinx.

Comment 2 Charalampos Stratakis 2022-06-14 23:31:11 UTC
$ mock -r fedora-rawhide-x86_64 pyosmium-3.3.0-1.fc37.src.rpm

Finish: rpmbuild pyosmium-3.3.0-1.fc37.src.rpm

$ mock -r fedora-rawhide-setuptools-62.4.0 pyosmium-3.3.0-1.fc37.src.rpm

ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'osmium'

It is a setuptools issue.

Comment 3 Tom Hughes 2022-06-14 23:57:10 UTC
Well I'm sure upstream will fix it then - not much I can do until then.

Comment 4 Charalampos Stratakis 2022-06-22 23:51:42 UTC
PR: https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/pyosmium/pull-request/1

Comment 5 Charalampos Stratakis 2022-06-27 21:48:00 UTC
The new setuptools has been built on rawhide.
