The avahi headers are required to compile Pidgin, and I assume lots of other dependent software.

If your not going to ship the headers then please convert this package to a static library so it gets bundled with any dependencies, and clears the way for EPEL packages, including the devel headers.

This might work as a substitute for some, in the interim:
