Description Robert Scheck 2022-06-26 11:18:43 UTC
Please branch and build python-unidecode in epel9.

If you do not wish to maintain python-unidecode in epel9, or do not think you will be able to do this in a timely manner, the EPEL Packagers SIG would be happy to be a co-maintainer of the package; please add the epel-packagers-sig group through https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/python-unidecode/addgroup and grant it commit access, or collaborator access on epel* branches.

Comment 1 Robert Scheck 2022-07-03 16:10:07 UTC
Will you be able to branch and build python-unidecode in epel9? The EPEL Packagers SIG would be happy to be a co-maintainer if you do not wish to build it on epel9.

Comment 2 pjp 2022-07-07 06:21:18 UTC
Hello Robert,

Yes, will try. I haven't done a build in long time, it'll be nice.

Thank you.

Comment 3 Robert Scheck 2022-07-07 21:36:53 UTC
Do you need assistance? Just let me know if I can help somehow. Alternatively, if you grant permissions to the epel-packagers-sig group, I'll just take care of it.

Hello Robert,

* EPEL9 branch requested
  -> https://pagure.io/releng/fedora-scm-requests/issue/45631

* Will ping you if I get stuck at some place.

Thank you.

Comment 5 Robert Scheck 2022-07-10 12:40:14 UTC
Cool, thank you! Can you also request EPEL 8 branch (as initially requested per bug #1784464 by somebody else)?

Comment 6 pjp 2022-07-10 18:31:26 UTC
* epel8 request -> https://pagure.io/releng/fedora-scm-requests/issue/45647

* epel9 build -> https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=89338057

* Will make EPEL SIG as co-maintainer for both epel branches once epel8 branch is created.

* Python Unidecode latest version is 1.3.4 -> https://pypi.org/project/Unidecode/
  Need to pull this into rawhide and F36, F35 branches?

Thank you.

It makes sense for Rawhide in any case, for stable branches (F36, F35) it's up to you (because I don't know if you've received bug reports about the old version, known issues etc.).
