Description Renaud Métrich 2022-07-11 10:50:09 UTC
Description of problem:

A customer sees its snmpd daemon exhaust the system memory after some time.
The memory increase is ~600MB per week.

Using valgrind, I didn't see any leak per say, there is just more and more memory allocated.

The customer has a log showing the packets being received over the network, but replaying the packets, I don't see any increase on my side.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

net-snmp-5.8-22.el8.x86_64

How reproducible:

Always on customer system

Additional info:

The customer is not running latest for RHEL8.6 (which is 5.8-25.el8) but checking the changelog I don't see much difference between the two.
