other than documentation we want to make a code change too as for questions, bugzilla is not the best place to discuss (In reply to Michal Skrivanek from comment #1) > other than documentation we want to make a code change too > > as for questions, bugzilla is not the best place to discuss Hi Michal, my intention with this bug is to have the upgrade procedure with all the steps needed to transition to EUS clearly documented. We should know the details in advance to avoid customers upgrading to RHEL 8.7 inadvertently. For example, should we start recommending things like setting a fixed release with "subscription-manager release --set=8.6" for the hosts and the manager? We can discuss the details outside of bugzilla and keep this bug to track that the documentation is updated. I agree with having "subscription-manager release --set=8.6" as a default now for all customers. *** Bug 2005106 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Docs bug: bz#2115388 Problem: package ovirt-host-4.5.0-3.1.el8ev.x86_64 conflicts with redhat-release >= 8.7 provided by redhat-release-8.7-0.2.el8.x86_64 - cannot install the best update candidate for package redhat-release-8.6-0.1.el8.x86_64 - cannot install the best update candidate for package ovirt-host-4.5.0-3.1.el8ev.x86_64 Problem: package ovirt-engine-4.5.2.5-0.1.el8ev.noarch conflicts with redhat-release >= 8.7 provided by redhat-release-8.7-0.2.el8.x86_64 - cannot install the best update candidate for package redhat-release-8.6-0.1.el8.x86_64 - cannot install the best update candidate for package ovirt-engine-4.5.2.5-0.1.el8ev.noarch Problem: package ovirt-hosted-engine-setup-2.6.5-1.1.el8ev.noarch conflicts with redhat-release >= 8.7 provided by redhat-release-8.7-0.2.el8.x86_64 - cannot install the best update candidate for package redhat-release-8.6-0.1.el8.x86_64 - cannot install the best update candidate for package ovirt-hosted-engine-setup-2.6.5-1.1.el8ev.noarch Changes are causing behaviour as expected Since the problem described in this bug report should be resolved in a recent advisory, it has been closed with a resolution of ERRATA.
