Description David Jaša 2022-08-05 13:44:20 UTC
Description of problem:
nmcli bash completion broken for -f/--fields option. Instead of completing (part of) the option at hand, it appends =<WORD>

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
NetworkManager-1.39.12-1.el9.x86_64

How reproducible:
always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. nmcli -f conn<tab>
2.
3.

Actual results:
nmcli -f conn=connection.

Expected results:
nmcli -f connection.

Additional info:
Affects all versions/OSs I use. Completing the same works without issue with e.g. 'nmcli c modify CON conn<tab>' → nmcli c modify CON connection.'.

Hi David,

Thank you for reporting this.

We analyzed this during our refinement meeting and came to the conclusion that this will require a high effort for a low severity bug.

Therefore, I will close it due to lack of capacity.

Thanks
