Description Robert Scheck 2022-08-05 22:19:19 UTC
Description of problem:
As of writing, perl-Mail-DKIM in RHEL 8 contains Mail::DKIM 0.54. However, modern mail applications such as MIMEDefang require the ARC (Authenticated Received Chain) support provided with e.g. Mail::DKIM 1.20200907, which we would like to use.

According to https://metacpan.org/release/MBRADSHAW/Mail-DKIM-1.20200907/source/Changes, the only change between Mail::DKIM 0.54 and 1.20200907 is the ARC support. And 1.20200907 is also the version that RHEL 9 is currently shipping.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
perl-Mail-DKIM-0.54-1.el8

Actual results:
Mail::DKIM 0.54 without ARC (Authenticated Received Chain) support.

Expected results:
Mail::DKIM 1.20200907 with ARC (Authenticated Received Chain) support.

Comment 1 Robert Scheck 2022-08-05 22:24:54 UTC
Cross-filed case 03284050 at the Red Hat customer portal.

Comment 2 Giovanni Bechis 2022-08-07 16:04:01 UTC
Actually Mail::DKIM 0.59 has ARC support but it cannot parse correctly all possible variations of "Authentication-Results" headers and it may fail when it tries to sign an email with those headers present.

Comment 3 Martin Osvald 🛹 2022-11-04 14:08:24 UTC
For rebase to happen, I will have to get perl-Mail-AuthenticationResults pkg/module into RHEL8 first (currently in RHEL9 only), because 1.20200907 requires it to build properly. I will follow the needed process. Let's see.

Comment 5 Martin Osvald 🛹 2022-11-22 11:28:33 UTC
Created RFE to get perl-Mail-AuthenticationResults into RHEL8:

Bug 2144810 - [RFE] Add perl-Mail-AuthenticationResults package to RHEL 8
