Description Ulrich Drepper 2006-10-20 19:29:56 UTC
Description of problem:
This is a pretty new machine with Intel's HDA on board. When I first installed
it on the 9th audio was working. I cannot swear that it was the FC6 kernel, it
might have been the FC5 kernel since FC5 is what I installed first.

But since shortly after the install sound doesn't work anymore. The modules get
loaded but I see this:

Oct 20 11:31:07 myware66 kernel: cannot find the slot for index 0 (range 0-0)
Oct 20 11:31:07 myware66 kernel: hda-intel: Error creating card!
Oct 20 11:31:07 myware66 kernel: HDA Intel: probe of 0000:00:1b.0 failed with
error -12

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
kernel-2.6.18-1.2798.fc6.x86_64

How reproducible:
always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.boot on machine with HDA
2.
3.

Actual results:
above message

Expected results:
no message and working sound

Comment 1 Ulrich Drepper 2006-10-26 22:54:31 UTC
After a power outage I truned the machine back on and sound works now. I don't
see the messages in the log anymore. Maybe it has something to do with warm
reboots vs cold reboots? Not worth keeping this open if ht cannot be reproduced.
