How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Have a user with password.
2. Click on the user on login screen and note a gear button for session desktop selection. 
3. Enter a wrong password

Actual results:
Gear button disappears.

Expected results:
Gear button does not disappear.
