Description of problem:

Once subscription-manager is installed on a fresh and up-to-date Fedora system, whenever I try to update with "dnf upgrade", the 'updates' repo offers a strange subscription-manager-rhsm-certificates with a version that doesn't match the same scheme than the one in regular 'fedora' repo. That RPM version conflicts with subscription-manager package.

First reproduced on Fedora 36.

Always.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start with a fresh Fedora system
2. dnf upgrade -y
3. dnf install subscription-manager -y # Everything fine so far
4. dnf upgrade -y

Actual results:

Conflict (see comment)

Expected results:

Successful upgrade.

The conflict is like this:

The funniest thing is how subscription-manager-rhsm-certificates-1.29.21-2.fc36.x86_64 was installed from fedora repo, but updates repo offers subscription-manager-rhsm-certificates-20220425-1.fc36.noarch . The version schemes are different.

Hi Pablo,

we updated subscription-manager-rhsm-certificates to a newer version (built from an own source, with its own version), however we did not update subscription-manager too.

The issue is already reported as bug 2089022, and we are in the process of updating the subscription-manager stack (subscription-manager + subscription-manager-rhsm-certificates + subscription-manager-cockpit) down to f36.
