Description Marius Vollmer 2022-08-26 12:54:54 UTC
Description of problem:

sgdisk crashes!

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
gdisk-1.0.9-3.fc37.x86_64
popt-1.19~rc1-4.fc38.x86_64

How reproducible:
Always!

Steps to Reproduce:
1. sgdisk /dev/null

Actual results:
Problem opening <Q\ for reading! Error is 2.
The specified file does not exist!

Expected results:
The specified path is a character device!

Additional info:
This is apparently because of a update to popt, which exposed a long standing bug in sgdisk. Upstream seems to be slowly working on a fix:

https://sourceforge.net/p/gptfdisk/code/ci/5d5e76d369a412bfb3d2cebb5fc0a7509cef878d/
https://sourceforge.net/p/gptfdisk/code/merge-requests/28/

sgdisk is used by libblockdev / blivet / anaconda / udisks2 / cockpit.

Well, it doesn't actually crash, but you get the point.

Thanks for fixing this! For reference, this is the build for rawhide:
