Please branch and build python-requests-mock in epel9

Comment 1 Carl George 🤠 2023-02-15 20:34:43 UTC
Will you be able to branch and build python-requests-mock in epel9? I would be happy to be a co-maintainer of the package (FAS carlwgeorge) to take care of this. Alternatively, if you add the Python Packagers SIG (python-packagers-sig) I can request the epel9 branch through that.

FEDORA-EPEL-2023-35c41df8aa has been submitted as an update to Fedora EPEL 9. https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-EPEL-2023-35c41df8aa

Hey carl, happy for you and python-packagers-sig to take co-maintainership of this. It's a really simple python library to package and basically just gets copied between branches and version bumped on release.

My RPM packaging skills are super rusty, what do you want me to do?

Comment 5 Carl George 🤠 2023-02-22 04:16:56 UTC
No packaging skills necessary to accept help :)

Someone with admin access to the package will need to go to the settings of the package and grant permissions.

https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/python-requests-mock/adduser
user name: carlwgeorge
level: commit (or admin)
--- and/or ---
https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/python-requests-mock/addgroup
group name: python-packagers-sig
level: commit (or admin)

I added the needsinfo on you because the bug defaulted to being assigned to you, and I assumed that meant you had the necessary access. However upon closer inspection the admins of the package are:

Paul Wouters (pwouters)
Alan Pevec (apevec)
OpenStack SIG (openstack-sig) (which does not appear to include you)

Resetting the needsinfo to the folks that can action this.

I'm actually not sure how you became the assignee for this bug, as you don't appear to be in the Packagers group.

Comment 6 Jamie Lennox 2023-02-22 06:37:50 UTC
Not anymore.

I'm happy if you want to change the default assignee as well. You'll probably get faster feedback.

Comment 7 Alfredo Moralejo 2023-02-22 09:58:13 UTC
I'm not allowed to add python-packagers-sig group as admin or commit (i'm part of openstack-sig group) so i guess only the main admin (Paul Wouters) can do it.

I built python-requests-mock for epel9 and proposed the update in https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-EPEL-2023-35c41df8aa so i guess it will be available soon.
