Description Karel Zak 2022-10-10 07:52:54 UTC
Upstream commit f27876f (in v2.38) inadvertently changed __uuid_generate_random to __uuid_generate_time. So now uuidd generates time-based UUIDs when asked for random-based ones.

Fixed by upstream commit: http://github.com/util-linux/util-linux/commit/b408a291d39e9b637f6104eb4e1f8e60816421e2

Note that uuidd is mostly used to generate time-based UUID, so this bug is probably a minor issue (and libuuid and uuidgen(1) do not use uuidd as a backend for random UUIDs).
