Unlike locate in previous versions of RedHat, the default
/etc/cron.daily/slocate.cron does not exclude non-local
filesystems and will happily traverse them when building
its database.

 On a system with a lot of NFS-mounted filesystems, or
for servers with a lot of clients that mount from it,
this may put a huge load on things.

fixed in the cron script for slocate-1.4-5. It will now
not index nfs,ncpfs,smbfs file systems by default.
