And last thing - can you please try to use upstream binary from https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/#product-desktop-release (currently Firefox 110) and https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/#product-desktop-esr (currently 102.8) and let us know how it works there? I don't have a test environment to run third-party programs. Sorry. Jens, could you help with that? Is any specific font required for the new Unicode 15.0.0 characters? I've opened the page https://cnman.github.io/font/CJKUnifiedIdeographsExtensionH.html and copied the content to gedit and I still see the unicode numbers instead of characters. Well it doesn't render for me even in Fedora 38... Moving to google-noto-cjk-fonts But I think this wait on upstream to support Unicode 15. I installed the font given in the first comment from http://cheonhyeong.com/File/TH-Tshyn-4.0.0.7z i.e. now I see: $ fc-match :charset=31350 file family style TH\-Tshyn\-P1:style=Regular,SiongKui,Ippan,Ilban,Thường,ChangGui,SoengKwhai:file=/home/mfabian/.fonts/TH-Tshyn-P1.ttf Before installing that font fc-match did not find anything. Now I can display U+31350 fine both in gedit *and* firefox in Fedora 38. firefox-113.0.1-1.fc38.x86_64 Moving back to Firefox: We suspect this requires backporting Unicode 15 support to Firefox ESR. Mike, can you please test it on Fedora with the Firefox ESR - available from https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/#product-desktop-esr (to really confirm that it's a problem of Firefox ESR)? Unicode 15 is supported since FF 109, see: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1792775 So if is it case of unicode 15, ESR 102 is affected. The ESR 115 should fix it for us. Great, thank you Jan! Let me move this to POST so it can be tested once we move to ESR 115 (similar as with bug 2035779 or bug 2028942) Issue migration from Bugzilla to Jira is in process at this time. This will be the last message in Jira copied from the Bugzilla bug. This BZ has been automatically migrated to the issues.redhat.com Red Hat Issue Tracker. All future work related to this report will be managed there. Due to differences in account names between systems, some fields were not replicated. Be sure to add yourself to Jira issue's "Watchers" field to continue receiving updates and add others to the "Need Info From" field to continue requesting information. To find the migrated issue, look in the "Links" section for a direct link to the new issue location. The issue key will have an icon of 2 footprints next to it, and begin with "RHEL-" followed by an integer. You can also find this issue by visiting https://issues.redhat.com/issues/?jql= and searching the "Bugzilla Bug" field for this BZ's number, e.g. a search like: "Bugzilla Bug" = 1234567 In the event you have trouble locating or viewing this issue, you can file an issue by sending mail to rh-issues. You can also visit https://access.redhat.com/articles/7032570 for general account information. |
