Description Patrick J. LoPresti 2022-11-16 18:14:38 UTC
nuttcp is a very useful network profiling tool that has been in EPEL since RHEL6.

Thank you!

Comment 1 Nikos Mavrogiannopoulos 2022-11-17 14:37:06 UTC
I see I'm listed as a maintainer in EPEL, that is not correct. Consider the package unmaintained.

Comment 2 Patrick J. LoPresti 2022-12-02 16:53:05 UTC
Will anyone be able to branch and build nuttcp in epel9?

Comment 3 Robert Scheck 2023-12-03 01:09:35 UTC
Please branch and build (latest) nuttcp in epel9.

If you do not wish to maintain nuttcp in epel9, or do not think you will be able to do this in a timely manner, the EPEL Packagers SIG would be happy to be a co-maintainer of the package; please add the epel-packagers-sig group through https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/nuttcp/addgroup
and grant it commit access, or collaborator access on epel* branches.

I would also be happy to be a co-maintainer (FAS: robert).

If necessary/required/helpful, I can be the primary contact for EPEL (FAS: robert).

Comment 4 Nikos Mavrogiannopoulos 2023-12-03 09:37:57 UTC
I needed nuttcp as well last summer and I opened https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/nuttcp/pull-request/1 .
I have failed to successfully contact Qiyu so I eventually replaced the use of nuttcp with iperf3.
Maybe that can be a general solution.

Comment 5 Qiyu Yan 2023-12-03 09:41:36 UTC
Sorry as the mail slided out of my notice, requesting a side tag

Comment 6 Qiyu Yan 2023-12-03 09:46:57 UTC
I see that the branch is already there, so I am trying a scratch build, if it work I will merge rawhide to epel9 and build it.

And yeah, I will add epel-sig to co-maintainer then.
