Description Robert Mader 2022-11-20 00:04:05 UTC
Libcamera is under quite heavy development and recently started to tag pre-releases.
Given it's close relationship with Pipewire (it should/will become the default camera backend by default hopefully soon[1]), it would be great if Fedora would ship more recent versions, optimally updating on every new pre-release/together with Pipewire.

Libcamera allows a bunch of modern cameras to work - if used through Pipewire/xdg-portal even without explicit application support. A number of applications currently see active work on such Pipewire/portal support, including webrtc (which covers chromium/firefox/electron).

Thanks a lot for considering! :)
