Description Neal Gompa 2022-12-03 15:41:34 UTC
Description of problem:
systemd in CentOS Stream 9 is being upgraded to v252, please consider upgrading this package to at least systemd v252.2 to keep in lockstep.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
250.3-1.el9

Comment 1 Neal Gompa 2022-12-06 01:22:08 UTC
The upgraded systemd package for CentOS Stream 9 has been built in the CentOS Stream Koji: https://kojihub.stream.centos.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=27673

Comment 2 Igor Raits 2023-01-02 13:55:11 UTC
The v252 is out on the centos mirrors. Can somebody proceed with this one? Thanks!

Comment 3 Robert Scheck 2023-01-02 14:36:16 UTC
I am working on this, however the not yet updated systemd-extras has no impact for users.

Comment 4 adam winberg 2023-05-10 07:23:47 UTC
RHEL9.2 is released with systemd-252. Whats the status on this?

Comment 10 adam winberg 2023-05-16 06:04:46 UTC
systemd-boot is missing from the build. I understand there are some issues with this package with some files that are now included in RHEL provided packages. How can we continue to use systemd-boot on RHEL9?

Comment 11 Robert Scheck 2023-05-16 10:03:56 UTC
Unfortunately, Red Hat caused a mess here. This also has been reported as bug #2178322 to me. Instead of moving systemd-stub (which they need for their Unified Kernel Image aka UKI in RHEL 9.2) into a separate RPM living in a buildroot-only repository, they decided to add the executables of systemd-boot as part of the systemd-udev RPM and added a systemd-boot-unsigned RPM (with the stub files) in CRB. Latter RPM provides systemd-boot, but does not obsolete it.

From my understanding, 'dnf swap systemd-boot systemd-boot-unsigned' and 'dnf install systemd-udev' does hopefully do the trick for existing installations.

Yes, this seems to work - thanks!
