Description Oden Eriksson 2022-12-08 07:35:56 UTC
There's a runtime dependency on the neon library:

# /usr/bin/nut-scanner
Neon library not found. XML search disabled.
Scanning USB bus.
No start IP, skipping SNMP
No start IP, skipping NUT bus (old connect method)
Scanning NUT bus (avahi method).
Scanning IPMI bus.
Failed to create client: Daemon not running

nut-xml requires libneon, so I guess the base nut package should require or suggest nut-xml

This is nut-2.8.0-7 on RHEL 8 with the missing deps rebuild from rawhide.

Thank you for reporting this. I will look into it

I've updated spec file to have recommends: nut-xml so it can be uninstalled if user does not want it. This change is in git for all live epel and fedora releases. I don't plan to relase new update with just this change. It will wait until something more important occurs.
