Description of problem:

Playing audio on a Lenovo ThinkCentre M920t results in audio coming out of both the built-in speaker and the connected external speakers. The settings only show "Speaker" so there is no choice to control the output.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Connect external speakers
2. Play audio

Actual results:

Sounds is heard from two sources.


Expected results:

Sound should only come from the external speakers.


Additional info:

I can find some more settings if I bypass pipewire and run "alsamixer -c0":

 * There is a "Headphone+L0" volume that controls just the speakers

 * There is a "Speaker" volume that controls just the internal speaker. This is also what GNOME shows as the system volume. Muting this mutes both the internal and external speaker.

 * There is an "Auto-Mute Mode" setting. It's default setting of "Disabled" gives the described problem. Any other setting mutes the internal speaker and keeps the external speakers working.

Not sure if it's related, but there is also a large delay before the external speakers start getting a signal. The internal speakers, however, starts playing instantly.

This message is a reminder that Fedora Linux 36 is nearing its end of life.

Fedora Linux 36 entered end-of-life (EOL) status on 2023-05-16.

Still an issue in Fedora 38, unfortunately.

I can get rid of the double sound using a alsa control called "Auto-Mute Mode". It doesn't affect the delay, though.

Ideally, the system should present the built-in speaker and the line out as different output devices.
