Looks like this will be blocked until upper bound dependencies in a few packages are resolved.

[root@f39-container:~]# repoquery -q --requires mu | grep platformdirs
(python3.11dist(platformdirs) < 3~~ with python3.11dist(platformdirs) >= 2)

[root@f39-container:~]# repoquery -q --requires python3-poetry | grep platformdirs
(python3.11dist(platformdirs) < 3~~ with python3.11dist(platformdirs) >= 2.5.2)

[root@f39-container:~]# repoquery -q --requires python3-pyscaffold | grep platformdirs
(python3.11dist(platformdirs) < 3~~ with python3.11dist(platformdirs) >= 2)

Poetry has an upstream issue tracking this, the others don't yet.

Comment 11 Lumír Balhar 2023-05-23 05:05:00 UTC
Unfortunately, all of the packages mentioned above still depend on python3dist(platformdirs) < 3~~.

Comment 12 Carl George 🤠 2023-06-01 18:09:36 UTC
mu-1.2.0-2.fc39 has its upper bound bumped to 4. python-pyscaffold-4.2.1-8.fc39 has its upper bound bumped to 4. python-poetry needs to be updated to version 1.5.x for compatibility with platformdirs 3, but that is also it's minimum requirement so it must be done at the same time. Tomáš is doing the work for this in the following PRs:

https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/python-platformdirs/pull-request/8
https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/poetry/pull-request/41
