Description Dmitri A. Sergatskov 2023-01-14 00:52:48 UTC
Description of problem:
KLU support is disabled in CentoS Stream / Epel 9

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
sundials-5.8.0-9.el9.x86_64

How reproducible:
100%

KLU support is disabled in sundials-5.8.0-9.el9.x86_64 apparently intentionally.
Not sure why. Rebuilding sundials-5.8.0-6.fc37.src.rpm locally works fine and
it has KLU support. Please re-enable it. Octave uses it for ode15i and ode15s
solvers.

This also seems to be a recurrent problem (see bug 1428644).

Comment 1 Antonio T. sagitter 2023-01-14 18:11:34 UTC
We can't build 64bit-integer Sundials (like happens in Fedora) because KLU-64 support is missing; that means also Fortran libraries are not provided.

Summarizing, in EPEL9:

Sundials no 64bit-integer libraries with klu-enabled and without Fortran support (until rhbz#2092187 is not closed)
Is it acceptable for Octave?

Comment 2 Dmitri A. Sergatskov 2023-01-14 18:18:59 UTC
Yes, 64-bit integer support is a separate issue.

Comment 4 Dmitri A. Sergatskov 2023-01-14 20:59:49 UTC
I just tried sundials-5.8.0-10.el9.x86_64 (from koji) and seems to be fine.
Thanks!
