Note: This bug is displayed in read-only format because the product is no longer active in Red Hat Bugzilla.
RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description John Meneghini 2023-01-20 20:32:39 UTC
Description of problem:

avahi-tools is part of the build artifacts

https://brewweb.engineering.redhat.com/brew/buildinfo?buildID=1897624

Let me see advisory

Where the build was shipped

Hmmm, indeed

https://errata.devel.redhat.com/advisory/90116/builds

avahi-tools is marked as not shipped

And bunch of other stuff as well

I probably didn't check the Builds tab in ET back then and QE somehow
missed it as well.

Please file a bug so we can correct it

Any updates on this? Will this be included in RHEL 9.2?

Comment 3 John Meneghini 2023-03-22 19:48:35 UTC
Micheal, since 9.2 is now too late, can we get this fixed in 9.3?

Here is the MR against c9s comps https://gitlab.com/redhat/centos-stream/release-engineering/comps/-/merge_requests/318. Once merged this should automatically propagate internally (i.e. in RHEL-9) as well.

Comment 5 John Meneghini 2023-04-17 21:42:37 UTC
Micheal, Josh wants this to be shipped in Appstream, not BASEOS.

Can you make that change so the MR gets merged?

Comment 6 Michal Sekletar 2023-05-15 17:20:29 UTC
avahi-tools is now available in RHEL-9.3 nightly composes.

Comment 11 Michal Sekletar 2023-07-17 11:08:29 UTC
avahi-tools is already available in RHEL-9 compose. There is no need to keep the bug open.
