Description Takashi Yano 2023-01-26 10:49:43 UTC
Description of problem:
Currently, APE (https://monkeysaudio.com/) decoder is disabled in ffmpeg-free. Is there any license or patent issue?

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
ffmpeg-free 5.1.2

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Run "ffmpeg -codecs 2>&1 | grep Monkey"

Actual results:
 ..AI.S ape Monkey's Audio

Expected results:
 D.AI.S ape Monkey's Audio

Additional info:
Futher, I would be happy if you could let me know why wma, wmv and mpeg4, which seems to be in high demand, are disabled. I guess the reason is patent issues.

Comment 1 Neal Gompa 2023-01-26 12:02:15 UTC
This is being worked on. I can confirm that at least at this time, we can't ship wmv3 and wma3/wmapro, but I'll look into the rest.

Thanks much! The ffmpeg-free package has become now much more useful.

Btw, it seems that many libavcodec files are missing from ffmpeg_free_sources, such as libavcodec/cfhddsp.c, libavcodec/cfhddsp.h, libavcodec/cfhdencdsp.c, libavcodec/cfhdencdsp.h, etc. Or do I overlook something?

Sorry, that's my mistake. Never mind...
