Description Adam King 2023-01-26 16:50:11 UTC
In the cephadm binary portion that lists the default images you can see

DEFAULT_SNMP_GATEWAY_IMAGE = 'registry.redhat.io/rhceph/snmp-notifier-rhel8:latest'
DEFAULT_REGISTRY = 'registry.redhat.io'   # normalize unqualified digests to this
DEFAULT_SNMP_GATEWAY_IMAGE = 'docker.io/maxwo/snmp-notifier:v1.2.1'

so while the image is being set correctly at first, it is being reset back to the docker image. This should have any real impact unless users try to manually deploy SNMP gateway through the cephadm tool without using the orchestrator mgr module (which is unlikely) but we should remove the extra, incorrect line.

I don't think we need to do any actual SNMP testing to verify this is fixed, just check the cephadm binary code doesn't include the line setting the image to the docker one. As mentioned, this only has an effect in unconventional deployment scenarios. This issue does not exist in the cephadm mgr module, only the cephadm binary.

 Missed the 5.3 z1 window. Moving to 6.1. Please advise if this is a problem.
