Hi Romulasry,

  This is actually a planned pause, not a missed opportunity.  Since introducing a new version of the binutils has a tendency to introduce new problems for other packages, we made the decision to delay updating rawhide until after the Fedora 38 branch has been cut.  That way F38 will have a known-good, reliable binutils and Rawhide/F39 can start experimenting with the new binutils.  See here for more details:

The good news is that the F38 branches are due to be cut soon (Feb 7, 2023) so I will be updating rawhide once they have been created.

Fixed in binutils-2.40-1.fc39

Right - the f38 branch has been cut and I have rebased rawhide to 2.40.  The build is currently going through the Bodhi update system and should be in the buildroot soon.
