Description painless.roaster 2023-02-27 20:31:43 UTC
Description of problem:

Since Plasma 5.27.1, applications do not accept DPI changes.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

Plasma 5.27.1

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install Fedora 37 KDE spin
2. Try changing the dpi and everything will be OK.
3. Perform an update (sudo dnf update).
4. Plasma will be updated to 5.27.1 and now the dpi change will no longer be reflected in applications.

Actual results:

After logging out/logging in, the dpi is changed for the desktop and for the main menu. However, all applications have a base dpi of 96.

Expected results:

All applications must respond to the dpi change.

Additional info:

This problem is not in KDE Neon. Neither in stable, test or unstable versions. So, obviously the problem is in the Fedora packages or the problem is already fixed in Neon.
Everyone who has High DPI monitors is affected by this bug. Using display scaling in Wayland is not a solution, because Wayland is still buggy. That's why I gave the problem high priority.
By the way, the exact same problem exists in Fedora 36 if you upgrade to Plasma 5.27.1.

Version 5.27.2 did not solve the problem. :-(

you already know that because you monitor the upstream bug report I just found and linked.

For the time being, I suggest you try one of the workarounds suggested in the bug report
