Description Simon Krenger 2023-03-10 09:33:35 UTC
Description of problem:

When an iPhone device (tested with iPhone 14 Pro) is connected to the computer via USB, after logging in, Fedora freezes after logging in. I strongly suspect this has to do with the "Untrusted Device" dialogue being shown in the background / blocking the login. Fedora is running GNOME.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

~~~
$ cat /etc/fedora-release
Fedora release 37 (Thirty Seven)
$ uname -a
Linux CENSORED.redhat.local 6.1.14-200.fc37.x86_64 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Sun Feb 26 00:13:26 UTC 2023 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
$ rpm -qa | grep "libimobiledevice"
libimobiledevice-1.3.0-7.fc37.x86_64
~~~

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Connect iPhone to computer via USB
2. Start the computer running Fedora 37
3. Login to Fedora using the username / password
4. The iPhone shows the "Trust This Computer?" dialogue

Actual results:

5. Observe that the login freezes, pointer not moving.
6. Progressing the dialogue on the iPhone does not unblock the process on Fedora
7. Disconnect the iPhone from the computer, observe that the login proceeds

Expected results:

No freezes during login

Additional info:

* Observed on multiple devices running Fedora 37
