Yesterday, 30 Nov, 2006, a Hal update was applied to the system. I restored the i810 driver, and thus far 12 hrs (still up and running). This is a good sign. Should mention that there is nothing in the x11 logs, as the lockup appears to be in the bios. Here are my list of suspect updates that could point to the solution: xorg-x11-drv-i810 (Nov 10th approx) xorg-x11-server-Xnest xorg-x11-server-Xorg xorg-x11-server-Xvfb xorg-x11-server-sdk and yes xorg-x11-xinit My experience is that the initial system versions were causing less severe problems. One visual notice. During switching modes (during boot, or logoff/logon), hash lines along the bottom of the screen appear. Occasionally these are mid screen, in color, and display the Intel logo. Thanks for the bug report. We have reviewed the information you have provided above, and there is some additional information we require that will be helpful in our diagnosis of this issue. Please attach your X server config file (/etc/X11/xorg.conf) and X server log file (/var/log/Xorg.*.log) to the bug report as individual uncompressed file attachments using the bugzilla file attachment link below. Could you please also try to run without any /etc/X11/xorg.conf whatsoever and let X11 autodetect your display and video card? Attach to this bug /var/log/Xorg.0.log from this attempt as well, please. We will review this issue again once you've had a chance to attach this information. Thanks in advance. Further to the upload. It is after the reinstall of FC6, with the x11 updates blocked. With regular fc6 (non xen) the problem does not appear. There is almost 2 months delay between filing the bug report and today. I wish I could be more helpful. Leslie (In reply to comment #5) > There is almost 2 months delay between filing the bug report and today. I wish I > could be more helpful. I am sorry for that. I was just getting into the job and I am still working on taking over all bugs which are under my control. Hopefully, it is going to be better now. This problem has completely disappeared as of Feb 13, 2007. There is no longer a problem |
