With version of satellite 6.11+ this is no longer the correct repository name.

This comes from https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_satellite/6.11/html-single/release_notes/index#ref_major-changes-in-this-release_assembly_introducing-red-hat-satellite

I think the repo that should be used for version 6.11+ of satellite is: satellite-client-6-for-rhel-8-x86_64-rpms

Hi Brandon,

We are highlighting the Satellite Tools package here and not the actual Satellite package.

Rabi, could you please take a quick look at this bug and let me know what you think?

Thank you
Fiona

I believe there is a misunderstanding here.
The version of satellite-tools or satellite-client in a CV has nothing to do with the version that the satellite server runs on.
For 16.2, the CV should have:
- fast-datapath-for-rhel-8-x86_64-rpms
- openstack-16.2-for-rhel-8-x86_64-rpms
- rhceph-4-mon-for-rhel-8-x86_64-rpms
- rhceph-4-osd-for-rhel-8-x86_64-rpms
- rhceph-4-tools-for-rhel-8-x86_64-rpms
- rhel-8-for-x86_64-appstream-eus-rpms
- rhel-8-for-x86_64-baseos-eus-rpms
- rhel-8-for-x86_64-highavailability-eus-rpms
- rhel-8-for-x86_64-supplementary-eus-rpms
- satellite-tools-6.8-for-rhel-8-x86_64-eus-rpms <======================================

Thanks for chiming in Vincent!

Fiona,

The docs ask for the repo "satellite-tools-<satellite_version>-for-rhel-8-x86_64-rpms" (I'm pretty sure in several places).

Because of the change I mentioned in my BZ request (the satellite link) the satellite team is no longer making satellite-tools-<satellite_version>-for-rhel-8-x86_64-rpms repos for versions 6.11 or later. So anyone reading the docs and using version 6.11+ of satellite will fail to find a repo.
