yes, Ctrl+s works even with no decription filled :-) Bug description here: Recently found bug in dm-crypt: Fix corruption issue with dm-crypt on top of software raid5. Cancelled readahead bio's that report no error, just have BIO_UPTODATE cleared were reported as successful reads to the higher layers (and leaving random content in the buffer cache). Patch is on way to stable kernel, already fixed upstream (by another code change). This request was evaluated by Red Hat Product Management for inclusion in a Red Hat Enterprise Linux maintenance release. Product Management has requested further review of this request by Red Hat Engineering, for potential inclusion in a Red Hat Enterprise Linux Update release for currently deployed products. This request is not yet committed for inclusion in an Update release. Created attachment 142744 [details]

Attached equivalent RHEL patch from dmcrypt mailinglist.
committed in stream U5 build 42.31. A test kernel with this patch is available from http://people.redhat.com/~jbaron/rhel4/ QE ack for RHEL4.5. Fix is in the -52 kernel. An advisory has been issued which should help the problem described in this bug report. This report is therefore being closed with a resolution of ERRATA.
