Description Coty Sutherland 2023-04-03 17:46:49 UTC
+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #2184133 +++

Description of problem:
The tomcat package makes the pki-serlvet-engine package obsolete. We should add an Obsoletes to the tomcat package's specfile so that users that were utilizing the pki-servlet-engine package are utilizing tomcat instead.

Comment 1 Matthew Harmsen 2023-06-16 18:14:26 UTC
Question: Shouldn't the Tomcat package also add a "Provides: pki-servlet-engine" to help make sure things don't break?

Comment 2 Coty Sutherland 2023-06-16 19:30:35 UTC
Yes, we should add a Provides also per https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/packaging-guidelines/#renaming-or-replacing-existing-packages

Comment 7 Coty Sutherland 2023-08-25 15:14:34 UTC
Reopening this issue as the obsoletes/provides in the subpackages is incorrect (see rhbz#2234752). It doesn't affect the PKI module in the same way, but it should be fixed to avoid other unforeseen issues.

Comment 21 RHEL Program Management 2023-09-21 23:39:50 UTC
Issue migration from Bugzilla to Jira is in process at this time. This will be the last message in Jira copied from the Bugzilla bug.

Comment 22 RHEL Program Management 2023-09-21 23:44:56 UTC
This BZ has been automatically migrated to the issues.redhat.com Red Hat Issue Tracker. All future work related to this report will be managed there.

Due to differences in account names between systems, some fields were not replicated. Be sure to add yourself to Jira issue's "Watchers" field to continue receiving updates and add others to the "Need Info From" field to continue requesting information.

To find the migrated issue, look in the "Links" section for a direct link to the new issue location. The issue key will have an icon of 2 footprints next to it, and begin with "RHEL-" followed by an integer. You can also find this issue by visiting https://issues.redhat.com/issues/?jql= and searching the "Bugzilla Bug" field for this BZ's number, e.g. a search like:

"Bugzilla Bug" = 1234567
