Please branch and build docbook5-style-xsl in epel8.

If you do not wish to maintain docbook5-style-xsl in epel8, or do not think you will be able to do this in a timely manner, the EPEL Packagers SIG would be happy to be a co-maintainer of the package; please add the epel-packagers-sig group through https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/docbook5-style-xsl/addgroup
and grant it commit access, or collaborator access on epel* branches.

My proposal would be to build the CentOS Stream 8 version from https://kojihub.stream.centos.org/koji/packageinfo?packageID=251 (which should be the same, except more %changelog entries, like in CentOS Stream 9).

Reproducible: Always

Actual Results:
No docbook5-style-xsl in any regular CentOS Stream 8 repository nor in EPEL 8.

Expected Results:
docbook5-style-xsl-1.79.2-5.el8 ;-)

Will you be able to branch and build docbook5-style-xsl in epel8? The EPEL Packagers SIG would be happy to be a co-maintainer if you do not wish to build it on epel8.

Hi, I'm sorry for the late respond. I will branch it asap.

Comment 4 Robert Scheck 2023-05-10 16:28:51 UTC
From what I can see, the epel8 branch has not been requested, yet.

Comment 5 Ondřej Sloup 2023-05-12 01:01:08 UTC
@redhat-bugzilla I'm currently questioning if it is a good idea to branch it as it is in RHEL8 build root. There is no specific approach to solving this issue or if it matters. I'm consulting this with a collage.

Comment 6 Robert Scheck 2023-05-12 08:07:20 UTC
I actually need docbook5-style-xsl for a 3rd-party package. Regarding RHEL 8 buildroot: Please see bug #2090958 - the same situation also existed for elinks and was clarified there by your colleagues.

I'm sorry for the wait, and thank you for your info.

Comment 8 Robert Scheck 2023-05-15 17:23:55 UTC
I'm not sure whether -15 was a good idea, because now there will be newer NEVRA in EPEL 8 than in CentOS Stream 9 (which breaks possible inplace upgrade paths from RHEL 8 to 9). This is why I suggested to use -5 (like the Koji build in CentOS Stream 8).

Comment 9 Ondřej Sloup 2023-05-23 00:14:22 UTC
I unpushed the package and lowered the version. You have a good point about the upgrade path; thank you for the suggestion.
