Description Ju Ke 2023-04-20 02:57:18 UTC
As per Pavel Reichl's request, clone bug 2171095 for RHEL 9.

1. Proposed title of this feature request
Allow multiple KVM/libvirt guests to have a vTPM backed by the hosts TPM

2. Who is the customer behind the request?
   Account: Jump Trading 602959
   TAM customer: yes
   CSM customer: no
   Strategic: yes

3. What is the nature and description of the request?
This new function allows dentries to be marked as only expired, instead of always be invalidated.

4. Why does the customer need this? (List the business requirements here)

Customer has HPC grid that uses fuse and relies heavily on dentry cache for effeciency. They have worked upstream with CERN to get fixes in kernel and fuse, and are now wanting them added to RHEL 9 which they use for the HPC grid.

5. How would the customer like to achieve this? (List the functional requirements here)
Backport the functionality to RHEL (or rebase if Red Hat prefers).

6. For each functional requirement listed, specify how Red Hat and the customer can test to confirm the requirement is successfully implemented.
Believe test case provided in RHEL 9 BUG 2188181.

7. Is there already an existing RFE upstream or in Red Hat Bugzilla?
   Existing RFE no.

8. Does the customer have any specific timeline dependencies and which release would they like to target (i.e. RHEL5, RHEL6)?
   RHEL 9

9. Is the sales team involved in this request and do they have any additional input?
   No, but can be.

10. List any affected packages or components.
    fuse3-libs
kernel via RHEL 9 BUG 2188181

11. Would the customer be able to assist in testing this functionality if implemented?
    Probably not needed, but yes.

As the comment( https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2109496#c14 ), the original reproducer (and the derivative test case /kernel/filesystems/fuse/Regression/2080000-cache-symlink-truncate-value) can't test this bug, so I'm going to verify this BZ by running fuse regression tests against the fixed version.

TEST PASS.

No regression was found in the regression test against kernel-5.14.0-352.el9
